You’re certainly right about the lack of fight and fire in this team. I bet you Diego Costa would have been booked in that match. And I agree that Conte’s after-match remarks were insulting to savvy fans. If the team is working so hard, why are results so poor?
Victor Moses did put in the cross that led to Morata’s goal, but he also gave up the ball at the end of the half that led to Eriksen’s worldly. In general, Moses isn’t consistently good enough, but we could say that about any number of players. The only ones that display Chelsea spirit match in and match out are Kante and Azpi.
We may be in a spiral as you note; there’s no savior waiting in the wings.
hard not to agree with all of this. So frustrating – I thought we were the better team in the first half and I realise that to concede so poorly before half time will deflate the team. However surely the manager has to use the 15 mins to build them up again to really go for it? We were at home for god sakes but to me it looked like we just sat back (until we were losing )and then tried to get forward but without any real conviction I thought.
Major rebuilding looks a certainty but with no idea who the manager might be which players would come.
You are being far too kind to Conte Trizia, I spotted how deep and compressed we were defending about 15 mins before Tottenham scored the first. I sit at pitch level, just like Antonio, so there was no excuse not to fix that and stop inviting the shot from the edge of the box, especially as they were switching play quickly. Absolutely on the money as usual, especially with the overall culture at the club. Very few blood and thunder characters left
