CHELSEA’S 2021/22 PREMIER LEAGUE FIXTURES ANNOUNCED

From the official Chelsea FC website:

We have all the details of who Chelsea are playing and when following today’s release of the fixtures for the 2021/22 Premier League season…

After last season’s late commencement, it is back to a mid-August start for 2021/22…

Who do Chelsea play in the opening weeks of the season?

Our 2021/22 campaign commences with a home fixture, an all-London clash against Crystal Palace before the Blues travel across town to face Arsenal. It is back-to-back away days as we then play Liverpool at Anfield before we welcome Aston Villa to Stamford Bridge.

When are the other Tottenham and Arsenal London derbies?

We have an early away game against Spurs too, playing at their stadium in mid-September. The home hosting of Tottenham is in mid-January with our home fixture against Arsenal two league games later.

When do Chelsea meet Manchester City and Manchester United?

We take on the league champions Man City in our third home league game, in late September. Man United visit at the end of November. The return fixture at Old Trafford is our last away league game of the season. We play away at Man City in the middle of January.

And what about Chelsea’s home Premier League game against Liverpool?

That is the game pencilled in to begin 2022.

When do we take on Brentford?

Our first ever Premier League meeting with these west London neighbours is an away game at their new stadium in October. The Bees visit Stamford Bridge at the start of April.

What are our Premier League games after the six Champions League group stage matches?

After Champions League matchdays one and two we visit Spurs and are at home to Southampton. After the third group-stage game we are home to Norwich City. Matchday four is followed by a home game against Burnley, matchday five by the home game against Manchester United, and after the final group-stage game we play at home to Leeds.

Who do Chelsea play over Christmas and New Year?

Our league fixture prior to Christmas is away at Wolves. On Boxing Day we are due to return to the West Midlands to face Aston Villa. Then it is Brighton at home before that New Year match against Liverpool.

What about our Premier League run-in?

Our final six fixtures begin away at Leeds before a home derby against West Ham, a trip to Everton and a hosting of Wolves before the penultimate match, at Man United.

Who is our last Premier League game of 2021/22 against?

It is versus newly promoted Watford at Stamford Bridge.

Will there be fans in stadiums?

The Premier League has announced that it and its clubs are committed to the ambition of having full stadiums, including away supporters, from the start of the season, and will continue to work closely with Government and all relevant authorities, ensuring operational plans are in place ready to safely welcome supporters back to stadiums in August.

Changes to fixtures

Supporters are reminded that throughout the campaign there will be alterations to the fixtures. Match dates can change for a variety of reasons, including live TV broadcast selections and to accommodate matches in European and domestic cup competitions. For this reason, Premier League fixtures are always advertised as being subject to change.

Broadcast selections for the month of August will be announced by Monday 21 June.
